Project Overview
At C2MOD, we believe a home should reflect the people who live there—beautiful, functional, and uniquely theirs. This family invited us to help reimagine their Long Beach residence, and together, we embarked on a journey to modernize their space, solve safety concerns, and create a home that truly works for their lives.

The Vision: Comfort and Functionality
The owners wanted a fresh start for key areas of their home—spaces that felt cozy, looked beautiful, and worked better for their day-to-day lives. Our job was to make it all happen, combining a calming palette of white oak, sage green, and soft gray with smart design choices that fit their style and needs.
The Ask
Their wishlist was very clear:
- A MASTER BATH RETREAT: They dreamed of a serene, spa-like bathroom that felt luxurious but also considered their future accessibility needs.
- MORE STORAGE, EVERYWHERE: Bigger closets, an expanded pantry, and clever storage options to bring order to their busy home.
- A KITCHEN THAT WORKS FOR THEM: Updated appliances, a fresh new look, and a dining area that felt inviting for both family dinners and daily use.
- A SAFER CONVERSATION ROOM: A tricky step had caused a few accidents, and they wanted a safer, more functional solution.
- A UNIFIED LOOK: New wood floors and fresh paint to tie the whole house together.
HOW WE MADE IT HAPPEN
We took their wishlist and turned it into a reality:
- MASTER BATH
We embraced the space’s tall ceilings and large layout to create a spa-like haven, complete with a soaking tub under a big, light-filled window. And, with future accessibility in mind, we made sure it followed ADA guidelines - CONVERSATION ROOM
To address the step-down hazard, we designed a built-in cubby bookshelf that does double duty as storage and a subtle handrail. Now it’s safer and more stylish. - KITCHEN & DINING AREA
We reworked the flow, upgraded all the appliances, expanded the pantry, and added thoughtful touches like a breakfast bar and space for a chandelier to make the dining area feel special. - FINISHING TOUCHES
We replaced tile with warm wood floors and refreshed the walls with colors that feel inviting and modern.
Turning Challenges Into Solutions
THE BATHROOM’S AWKWARD LAYOUT
We reconfigured everything, giving it a fresh start that feels open and functional.
STORAGE WOES IN THE KITCHEN
We created smarter storage solutions, from an expanded pantry to a mini-fridge, while making the kitchen both practical and beautiful.
SAFETY CONCERNS IN THE CONVERSATION ROOM
The built-in bookshelf now adds character and prevents accidents—a win-win.
The Result
El Roble Residence is now a place where style meets functionality. The family gained:
- A bathroom that feels like a retreat.
- A kitchen and dining space that makes everyday moments easier and more enjoyable.
- Safer, smarter solutions throughout their home.
But most importantly, they got a space that feels more like theirs.
